Fuses and Circuit Breakers

The wiring circuits in the vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers, and fusible thermal links.
This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems.
Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating.
Fuses of the same amperage can be temporarily borrowed from another fuse location, if a fuse goes out. Replace the fuse as soon as you can.

Fuses – Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need to check a fuse?
If electrical components in the vehicle are not working.
When do I need to replace a fuse?
If a fuse has blown.
How do I identify a blown fuse?
You can identify a blown fuse by a broken wire within the fuse.
